How To Improve Memory, To contrate more

9 Tips On How To Improve Memory

Go high on flavonoids
Just have more soya
Look at cute stuff
Get some physical exercise
Get creative

It's natural to have recall issues when you grow old, but it can be avoided through
simple lifestyle and dietary tweaks. Adding foods like berries, red wine, nuts, soya
, spinach, and beans to your daily diet and slashing alcohol can have a positive effect
on memory. Do yoga or regular exercise ensures to improve focus and concentration.
Remain socially active and participate in a lot of activities.

If you’ve been lately concerned about just how little you are able to remember, take a
deep breath first. It’s possible you have too many things going and too much on your mind.
It’s also possible you are not sleeping well. You may even be having a drink too many.
It’s but natural to forget things as we grow older. Plus we depend so heavily on digital
reminders and notes, we don’t really make the effort to commit information to the memory.
But if you are really at a loss about how to improve your memory, here are 9 things to try.

1. Berries Are The Way To Go

There is a large volume of research that proves the wonders of flavonoid-rich foods for
improving memory. They work to protect vulnerable neurons, enhance existing neuronal
function, and stimulate neuronal regeneration.1
Sources: Munch on red, blue, and purple berries like blueberries and cranberries, plums,
apples, pears, peaches, bananas, citrus fruits, nuts and beans, teas, red wine, unfiltered
fruit juices (particularly grape juice), peppers, tomatoes, onions, and eggplants.

2. Eat More Spinach

A diet rich in iron and folic acid ensures improved memory and concentration. It is not
only a must for growing children but also the elderly. Iron deficiency contributes to the
less efficient supply of oxygen to the brain and also decreases brain energy production.
Folic acid deficiency decreases intellectual capacity and impairs memory in the elderly.

Sources: For an adequate supply of these vital nutrients, gorge on green vegetables
like cress, spinach, leeks, lentils, asparagus, and broccoli. Also have liver, eggs, beef,
maize, fortified cereals, chickpeas, kidney beans, walnuts, almonds, apricots, and chestnuts
 are other top choices.2

3. Include Soya In Your Diet

Soya, made of soybeans, is popularly used as a meat substitute in many countries
and is rich in isoflavone phytoestrogens (plant estrogens). A study examined the effects
of high versus low soya diets on attention, memory, and frontal lobe function in young healthy
adults of both sexes for 10 weeks. Males and females on the high-soya diet showed significant
improvements in short-term and long-term memory along with increased mental flexibility.3
4. Give Fatty Fish A Try

Fatty fish contain omega-3 fatty acids, which improve brain health. Studies note that fatty
fish and fish oil supplements can promote cognitive function, especially in middle-aged adults.
4 Furthermore, fish is also believed to enhance memory and reduce the risk of age-related
disorders like Alzheimer’s and dementia.5
Sources: Mackerel, lake trout, tuna, salmon, sardine and herring.

5. Say Bye To Booze

Several animals studies have shown that alcohol impairs memory. It primarily hampers
the ability to form new long-term memories. Research suggests that the higher the volume
of alcohol consumed, the greater the memory impairment. And if these large quantities are
consumed rapidly, they can produce a memory blackout, making you forget key details of
events or even the entire events.6

6. Cat Videos For The Win

Well, we’re not kidding you on this. According to a research conducted at Japan’s
Hiroshima University, looking at cute images of baby animals yields careful behavior
and better concentration. A series of experiments engaged 132 students in different
activities like playing the game Operation or finding a number in a random sequence.
When these attempts were followed up with looking at cute baby animal photos, the
participants improved their performance ratings by 44% on an average.7
7. Be A Social Butterfly

According to a study by the Harvard School of Public Health, elderly people in the US
with an active social life may have a slower rate of memory decline. Marital status,
volunteer activities, and contact with parents, children, and neighbors were used to
analyze social integration in the study involving elderly subjects observed over 6 years.8
Another study observing 1138 older individuals revealed that even a 1-point increase in
social activity score was associated with a 47% decrease in the rate of decline in global
cognitive function. The 12-year study concluded that the rate of global cognitive decline
was reduced by an average of 70% in folks who were regularly socially active.9
So don’t be all cooped up inside the house always. Go out, cultivate relationships, call up
those friends and make memories – you’ll actually remember them if you’re more social.

8. Get Some Physical Exercise

The hippocampus in the brain is the seat of emotion, memory, and the autonomic nervous
system. As we age (or even with alcohol abuse), the size of the hippocampus shrinks.
According to a research, one year of aerobic exercise training was found to be successful in
turning back the clock and increasing hippocampal volume by 2%. The age-related loss in
volume of this part of the brain was actually reversed by 1 to 2 years, resulting in improved
memory function.10 Running has been seen to tremendous benefits for the brain,
from improving memory to increasing creativity.

9. Try Some Yoga, Too

It’s the age of ADHD and with so many distractions it’s hard to concentrate and focus
for adults and children alike. That’s where yoga comes in. According to a study of 159
high-stress and 142 low-stress adolescent students, those who practiced yoga scored
higher on concentration levels and exhibited better short-term memory. The students
were divided into experimental and control groups for 7 weeks, with the experimental
group practicing yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, and prayer.11
10. Do A Lot Of Creative Activities

Research suggests that actively engaging in a variety of lifestyle activities such as
listening to music, going to the movies, gardening, cooking, volunteering, playing games
and cards helps maintain cognitive health in late life. These cognitively challenging activities
especially help the elderly keep their wits and memory intact. The more challenging the activity,
better the results.

Activities like reading books, doing the crossword, attending classes, drawing and sketching,
and reading the newspaper rate higher for the elderly according to the study done on 436 older
women. A greater variety of activities, regardless of cognitive challenge and frequency, led to
an 8 to 11% decrease in the risk of impairment in verbal memory and global cognitive outcomes.

11. Learn A New Language

Bilingual people could just be sharper than monolinguals! Studies note that by learning
one or more languages (other than your native tongue), you can significantly improve
condition and memory. Reports, in fact, have concluded that bilingual people have a greater
memory power and cognitive skill, by observing the responses of several 5–7 year old
children to certain demanding mental tasks.13
12. Tune In To Some Music

Good music generates positive feelings, which has psychologically been believed to enhance
memory. Additionally, if you’ve learnt some form of music as a child, chances are you have a
better memory than your peers who aren’t trained in music. However, this holds good in the
case of verbal memory and not visual memory.14
The role of music in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) in old age has also been
extensively researched. Several studies report that music could help in preventing the progress
of Alzheimer’s and help the AD patients remember little things from their daily life.15
13. Sleep Well

A good night’s sleep might just be what you need to improve your memory! When you initially
acquire a new piece of information, it needs to be stabilized and consolidated by your brain
and then moved to your long-term memory. This process mainly takes place during sleep.
However, the body’s stress hormone, cortisol, is most active at night. And, without proper sleep,
cortisol can affect the process of memory transfer from one part of the brain to another.
(hippocampus to neocortical regions) So, if you haven’t been able to get those 8 hours of
sleep, your memory consolidation can suffer.16
Well, who doesn’t really want a razor-sharp memory? Adopt these healthy lifestyle changes
and see if they work.

Life-Untuk menang tak perlu menjatuhkan orang lain

Seorang Guru membuat garisan sepanjang 1m di papan tulis, lalu

berkata :“Anak-anak, cuba pendekkan garisan ini!"
.
.
Biarkan waktu yang akan membuktikan kualiti kita.

5 Self-care Tips If You’re Feeling Directionless In Life

CUREJOY EDITORIAL MAY 2, 2017

Feeling like you’re lost in life can be stressful. When we have no direction

or plans about our future, we might feel like time is running out for us

to achieve something. This feeling can come at any age, but the reactions

might be different for each person. A young 20-something person might turn to

alcohol, while a 50-year-old might turn to watching TV all the time. No one can

say how one might handle this feeling, but the stress and despair that comes

with it is the same for everyone. This time can make us vulnerable and extremely

unhappy, so it is imperative that we handle ourselves with some care. Eventually,

all of us find a way to make meaning and find a better path for us, but we need to

minimize the damage that can be done during this time. Below are some self-care

tips to help you through this time:

1. Don’t Feel Motivated

We are under such pressure to feel motivated and do something about our

lives when we feel lost. We feel more antsy and restless with each passing

unproductive day. We need to give ourselves permission to feel unmotivated

without feeling guilty about it. Pushing something for a long time without getting

any result only stresses you out unnecessarily. Sometimes, letting the demotivation

come through can give our brains a rest from all the thinking and get the negative emotions out.

2. Set One Goal For The Day

You might feel demotivated, but if you give into it completely, you might become

extremely lazy too. Once the cycle of demotivation and laziness starts, it can be

hard to get out of it. Setting one small goal a day, such as re-organizing your

closet, can be enough to keep you going for a while. Doing nothing isn’t just

being lazy, but also unhelpful for our mind. Keeping ourselves occupied while

taking care of a small goal can make the day easier and more productive.

3. Mindfulness

You may have heard the world ‘mindfulness’ enough times to think that this

solution is cliche, but when practiced correctly, it can do wonders for our overall

health. Mindfulness is the process of being in the present moment completely.

We can eat a piece of cake mindfully for example, tasting it completely and thoroughly

while keeping things like texture and quality in our mind. Doing things mindfully

takes away the fear of the past and the anxiety of the future, and lets you be fully

present in the right here, right now. This clears and refreshes both your mind and body

completely when done correctly.

4. Sleep

One of the most important things for our well-being is getting restful sleep. Getting at

least 7 hours of sleep is important. Sleeping helps the body to repair the past day’s

damage, and gives your conscious mind a rest. This process is needed for you to get

fresh thoughts and ideas for how to tackle the difficult place you are in. When you feel

rejuvenated and healthy, you also feel motivated to do something and take steps forward.

5. Learn New Things

Finally, give yourself time to learn one new thing about yourself or the world you live in.

We often feel like we aren’t good enough when we are feeling lost, but taking steps to inform

ourselves with something can make us gain more confidence. Exchanging ideas with someone,

reading a book, listening to a podcast can all be ways to expose ourselves to what the world

has to offer.

Property market will be badly hit in 2018, says expert
Minderjeet Kaur | Nov 13, 2017
Real estate veteran says property market could crash and bring
the price of new homes costing RM500,000 down to RM300,000.

Ernest-Cheong-property-market-1PETALING JAYA: The property
market will take a terrible hit next year, with developers and house
owners facing one of the toughest times to find buyers, says a real
estate veteran.
Ernest Cheong said it could lead to a market crash as consumers
do not have the financial capacity to own homes with some failing
to even pay their monthly instalments.
“The panic (within developers and house owners) might start after
Chinese New Year in February or later if the government decides to
pump in money to strengthen the market,” he told FMT.
He was responding to a reply given in the Dewan Rakyat by Deputy
Finance Minister Lee Chee Leong who said unsold completed residential
units rose by 40% to 20,807 units in the first half of 2017 compared with
 the same period last year.
Lee had said the units were worth RM12.26 billion with condominiums a
nd apartments costing over RM500,000 dominating the unsold homes in
Malaysia.
However, Cheong pointed out that the RM12.26 billion is only from the
primary market, which includes launches by developers. It does not include
the secondary market, which is house owners seeking to sell their homes.
“Previously, house buyers needed to pay 10% as deposit. Today, the situation
is different. Developers are in a desperate situation.
“That is why they are allowing buyers to pay 1% of the property price and pay
the remainder upon completion,” he said.
Cheong said this “generous payment mode” exists because developers
are finding it hard to sell off their new properties.
He said they are in danger of losing their bridging finance from banks if they
fail to sell at least 40% of the total units. The bridging finance is used by
developers to support their construction.
“This is where the danger starts. I predict if this continues, markets will crash
within 24 to 30 months because consumers do not have the financial capacity
to buy properties any more.
“Furthermore, developers who started building two years ago are expected
to flood the market further with their units.”
He estimated the value of homes waiting to be sold in the secondary
market to be around RM4 billion and expected more foreclosures by banks.
“So about RM16 billion of properties are waiting for buyers. But there is
no demand. The reason is that people don’t have the money,” he said.
When the property crash comes early next year, Cheong expects the prices
of houses to fall from RM500,000 to RM300,000.
He advised Malaysian consumers not to commit to buying a home unless
they could save up to RM1,000 a month for at least a year.
“This is to cover for rainy days if they lose their jobs.”
Cheong said findings by the Employees Provident Fund show that 89% of
Malaysians earn RM5,000 and below a month.
He said those who bought their homes five years ago are facing hardship
as prices of homes were at their peak then.
On average, for every RM100,000 housing loan, a buyer pays the bank
RM500 instalment a month, based on a 30-year payment period.
Cheong advised Malaysians to spend cautiously and invest wisely instead
of buying any property at the moment.
“There should not be any urgency to buy a property at the moment.
Try renting first.”

A very huge portion of that money was used to shield the Malays /
bumiputras from competition. Look at the list again - all that money was either
a grant of a monopoly project, overpriced projects, cheating or outright theft.
It was purely a 'dishing out free money' exercise.

*VERY GOOD ARTICLE*
Good to read a few times to get them sink into our heads on how we are so bad today.
Maybe worst off later if nothing is change this GE14.
Pass to your children to read too so that they understand the shit we are in.
Now, we have the 1MDB, the worst sucker in the world to deal with .... no end
or endless possibilities !?

Ketuanan Economists : I Hope You Can Understand This, Ceteris Not Paribus.
About two weeks ago the following went viral via WhatsApp.
The writer carries the name Arianto Husani.
I do not know if this person is real or it is a made up name.
But Arianto Husani's list of "corruptions" and "racist policies" is worth a close look.
I have corrected some spelling and grammar.
As usual my own comments are in blue.

(Please do read my Closing Comments too. Thank you.)
I am 60 years old, I have seen during Tungku Abdul Rahman times, we had
one of the best Government service, one of the best police, one of the best
military officers, it is because we had a multi racial workforce in all Government
sectors.
Why is it the BN government removed non muslims through "Operasi isi Penuh"
(Fill in full) Muslim population in all government Departments ?
(My comments : It would have been best to have the national racial demographics
represented at all levels of the government service ie 70% bumiputra,
30% non bumiputra.
Especially in the government school system. I believe the practical exclusion
of non Malays in the teaching profession has cost the country very dearly).
During Tungku Abdul Rahman we didnt come across a single mosque or surau
in all government departments or military or police department, we didnt come
across any corruptions.
(My comments : The spread of the religious cancer in the government began
after Dr Mahathir's 'Penerapan Nilai-Nilai Islam' was hijacked after the entry
of Anwar Ibrahim and his ABIM cohorts into government. The process was
hijacked further by the Ikhwan Muslimin or Muslim Brotherhood influence in
Malaysia. It has been downhill ever since. To make it even worse the Salafis
have thoroughly infiltrated the government system. This is the single largest
mistake made by the Malays and it will make them stupid, violent and poor.
They will also become far removed from the real Islam.)
WHY WITH ALL MOSQUES, SURAU, UNIVERSITY ISLAM AND UITM we
are facing the worst corruption scandals in the world today.
(My comments : It will only get worse. From my own personal observation and
personal experience, the religious people can be the worst cheats, liars and kuffar.
They are the spawn of satan. The more religious they claim to be, the worse
satans many, many of them are. Note how in our country the religious party
is now sleeping with same people they labelled syaitan and kafir before.)
Then here is a "list of corruption in Malaysia" prepared by Arianto Husani.
Some of his points here can be debated but thank you Arianto.
You have done a lot of research to prepare this list.

it is unable to give a breakdown.

71. With 1MDB RM42 billion missing.
72. MAIKA 120,000,000 SHARES IN TELEKOM
73. ABU SAYYAP TERRORIST 12 MILLION DOLLARS.

My comments : Wow! If you add up all those millions and billions above
it totals hundreds of billions of Ringgit - spent over past decades. All of it
involves taxpayers' money. Remember this folks : taxpayer's money.
This was the dishing out free money policy.
There are two more important things. A very huge portion of that money
was used to shield the Malays / bumiputras from competition. Look at the
list again - all that money was either a grant of a monopoly project,
overpriced projects, cheating or outright theft. It was purely a 'dishing out
free money' exercise.
Worse than any quantifiable monetary losses was the destruction in the
abilities and capacities of all those hundreds of thousands if not millions of
Malays and bumiputras from learning how to work hard, compete and become
 a self sufficient community.
Instead the hundreds of billions spent over the decades has made
the Malays / bumiputras less competitive than the non Malays and
(more importantly) vis a vis the rest of the world. Without the shielding,
without the wall papering with money they just cannot compete.
The second point to note is that all those billions were derived from oil
revenues. The long list above represents our squandering our oil wealth.
The Age of Oil Money.
So our oil money was used to shield the Malays / bumiputras from operating
at the same level in the market place. They were shielded from competition.
After so many decades, many have also acquired false hopes. Many of them
(who became rich) were actually duped into believing that they could now
succeed in business on their own. This is very far from the truth.
Here is more from Arianto.

I am 60 years old.
NEP supposed to end in 1999.

Now NEP being used as an excuse to implement Islamic values in all schools,
Universities, Police Departments, Government Departments.
WHY ARE INDIANS TREATED LIKE GANGSTERS BY PM AND DEPUTY PM?
WHY ALWAYS NON MUSLIMS ARE BRANDED KAIFR (JAHIL -
LOW CLASS HUMANS)
Malaysia is possibly the most racist country in the world with the following
segregation. Have a look and judge for yourself.
"List of racial discrimination" in Malaysia:
(1) Of the five major banks, only one is multi-racial, the rest are controlled
by Malays.
(My comments : The ketuanan felt that a banking system based on race could
best serve the consumer and the Malaysian economy, even without having
any prior experience in banking or in business. This policy was and still is
bereft of any good book learning (education) or simple common sense.
Needless to say, it has failed miserably. And now the Islamic banks are stealing
(yes stealing) the Malay peoples' money and making them poor.
Melayu miskin dulu. The shares of Public Bank Bhd (Chinese owned)
are selling at over RM22 per share. Maybanks shares are forever below
RM10 per share. The way to create a great banking sector is to have intense
competition among banks, this can be achieved by having as many banks as
the economy can sustain by itself, strict banking rules and regulation and
close monitoring. There is no other way. We will need hundreds and
thousands of bank CEOs, finance company CEOs populating our
economy to create a successful financial ecosystem. Right now there are
only six anchor banks with six CEOs to serve a nation of 32 million people.
This is as stupid as stupid can be.)
(2) 99% of Petronas directors are Malays.
(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese.
(4) 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by Malays.
(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be of

Bernas in 1980s. Otherwise, life is made difficult for Chinese rice millers.
(14) 100 big companies set up, owned and managed by Chinese Malaysians
were taken over by government, and later managed by Malays since 1970s,
e.g. UTC, UMBC, MISC, etc.
(15) At least 10 Chinese owned bus companies (throughout Malaysia in the
past 40 years) had to be sold to MARA or other Malay transport companies
due to rejection by Malay authorities to Chinese applications for bus routes
and rejection for their applications for new buses.
(16) Two Chinese taxi drivers were barred from driving in Johor Larkin bus station.
There are about 30 taxi drivers and three were Chinese in Oct. 2004.
Spoiling taxi club properties was the reason given.
(17) 0 non-Malays allowed to get shop lots in the
new Muar bus station (Nov. 2004).

(19) 48 Chinese primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.
(20) 144 Tamil primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.
(21) 2637 Malay primary schools built from 1968 - 2000.
(22) 2.5% government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian schools
got only 1%, Malay schools got 96.5%.
(23) While a Chinese parent with RM1000 salary (monthly) cannot get
school textbook loan, a Malay parent with RM2000 salary is eligible.
(24) All 10 public university vice chancellors are Malays. (And they are now
manufacturing unemployable graduates and potential ISIS recruits.)

(Err...sour grapes. This simply means you folks may need Viagra.
The Malay people dont need Viagra. They marry two, three and four wives !! )

Malaysian citizens with Bumi status. (One of them is that
Javanese Monkey.)
(36) 600,000 Chinese and Indian Malaysians with red IC were
rejected repeatedly when applying for citizenship in the past 40 years.
Perhaps 60% of them had already passed away due to old age.
This shows racism, based on how easily Indonesians got their citizenships
compared with the Chinese and Indians.
(My comments : Now Nur Jazlan says he wants to keep maybe another
50,000 Rohingyas in his house. They will all be given PR.
The Javanese Monkey says the spare room in his house is
already taken by Zakir Naik.)

    BISING LGE JADI MENTERI KEWANGAN?

Ni bukan masa Najib jadi PM lah bro. Kementerian Kewangan tu dia buat macam mak bapak dia punya!

    Sekian.

(Orang UMNO kalau kalah berdebat terus tak nak kawan. Saya pun tak heran! Podah!)

    Kalau selama ini rakyat merungut bantuan itu kena potong, bantuan ini kena sekat, bantuan sana kena henti, bantuan orang miskin orang susah, pelajar, pekebun kecil, peniaga kecil, semuanya menjadi cacat dan tersekat sekat;

Jangan, jangan kau cuba ingat 284 kotak beg tangan Birkin tu!
    Hati kau akan sakit.

Jangan, jangan kau cuba ingat berita semalam yang 11 luggage tu didalamnya ada wang berjumlah hampir RM100 juta!

    Jangan, jangan kau cuba berkira kira baki 61 luggage tu entah berapa ratus juga lagi ada di dalamnya. Sebab kalau kau cuba kira secara exponential, kau akan jumpa jumlah yang terbeliak biji mata;

    Hampir RM600 juta!!

    Gila!

    Pelan rasionalisasi kepala hotak depa!!

    Meminjam kata kata satu billboard yang pernah tular di Indonesia tidak lama dulu;

"Koruptor adalah babi yang berlagak nabi!"
